Sola Ajileye is a graduate of University of Ibadan (UI) with B.Sc (Hons), 1996 and M.Sc 2000 in Microbiolgy.  He also holds an MBA (Finance) 2006 from Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomosho.

 

Sola began his career with Gatewaybank Plc.  between 2000 and 2005 when the bank consolidated with three other banks to become Intercontinental Bank Plc. (i.e. IBPLC) At IBPLC, Sola rose through the ranks from a Unit Head, Loan Recovery in Lagos Island Region of the bank to Head, Loans Recovery Unit, North West/North East and later became the Regional Risk Manager (RRM) in the North West Region of the bank, Kano in 2008. 

 

he was back at the bank’s Headquarters in Lagos in 2010 and was made a Team Lead in the Special Asset Units with the responsibilities of restructuring and remediation of large ticket transactions, a role that involved direct interphase with Asset Management Company of Nigeria (AMCON). 

 

Sola left the services of IBPLC in February 2012 after 12years in the banking industry to join the senior management team of AIICO Capital Limited in July 2012 and began his career in Investment Banking. He was part of the team that sponsored and secured the Security & Exchange Commission (SEC) approval and registration for an authorized mutual fund scheme known as AIICO Money Market Fund (AMMF) with a fund size close to 1billion at present. He was later appointed as the Head, Structured Investment with his responsibilities expanded to cover Finance Lease Structuring & Real Estate Management on behalf of the company with oversight supervisory function on the marketing team  of the company.

 

Mr. Ajileye left AIICO in December 2015 after spending about three and a half years in the company to pick up an appointment as the pioneer General Manager/CEO of NEM Asset Management Company Limited in March 2016, a position he held till date.
